Setup instructions differ by model. Identify your screen, the player connected to it (the small computer that runs Rocket), its operating system, and its network before changing settings or resetting anything.

Identify the installation

  • Many Elo installations use an Elo Backpack computer behind the display.
  • LG and ClearTouch installations vary by generation and attached player.
  • Touch often uses a USB data cable separate from HDMI or other video.
  • Combined USB-C works only on verified models and configurations.
Look for the brand and model on the display and any attached player, or ask school IT. If you cannot find them, contact support with what you know. A photo of a cable connection can help with a cable problem, but you do not need a rear-of-screen photo just to ask which hardware you have.

Set up an Elo Backpack

For the Elo Backpack configuration shown in the Elo hardware setup guide, follow the illustrated steps to connect HDMI and USB, enroll with EloView, and have Rocket deploy your site.

Choose a ClearTouch setup guide

For a verified ClearTouch display purchased through Rocket, choose your screen: 43- and 55-inch ClearDigital Way Screens use the Way guide; 65-, 75-, and 85-inch ClearTouch screens use the ClearTouch setup guide. Confirm the display and attached player match the selected guide before changing settings. For a ClearDigital Way installation, follow the ClearDigital Way setup guide to connect to the internet and pin the Rocket app. If you are unsure whether it matches your display and attached player, contact Rocket support. Do not apply these instructions to other ClearTouch configurations without confirming the display and player models.

Set up your own hardware

For a Windows computer running Chrome or a managed ChromeOS device, use set up your own hardware. Confirm the operating system and management policy with school IT first.

Check power and cables

  1. Confirm the display and attached player both have power.
  2. Confirm the correct input source.
  3. Check that video and touch-data cables are seated.
  4. Power down if a cable or connector is loose, bent, hot, or damaged.
  5. Restart once after recording the symptom.
Do not force a damaged connector.

Check the network

  • Guest Wi-Fi may require a sign-in page, block communication between devices, or disconnect after a time limit.
  • A reset can erase a fixed network address (static IP) set up by school IT.
  • School network or device restrictions can explain why Rocket works off campus but not at school. Ask IT to check website filtering, DNS, and firewall settings.

What domains should school IT allowlist?

An allowlist is the list of website addresses your school network permits. Start by asking school IT to check access to site.rocketalumnisolutions.com and your exact Rocket site URL. For editing and account access, also check the Customer Portal. This is a starting check, not the full list of addresses Rocket may need. Photos, videos, sign-in services, and websites shown inside Rocket may use other addresses. Send Rocket support the blocked address or error and ask for the current requirements for your setup. Missing invitation or support emails require separate email-delivery checks.

Can Rocket use Ethernet?

Ethernet connects a device to the network with a cable instead of Wi-Fi. It works on compatible hardware. Confirm the display and attached player support the connection before changing the setup.

Can Rocket use enterprise Wi-Fi?

Enterprise Wi-Fi is a school- or organization-managed network with extra sign-in or security requirements. Your device may need security certificates (files used to verify access) or settings specific to its model. Involve school IT and Rocket support. Do not put private network sign-in details in a ticket.

Who handles LG warranty repairs?

Start with Rocket support. Provide the installation, display model, serial number, and warranty details so support can help coordinate a manufacturer service request if needed.

Avoid premature resets

A factory or enterprise reset can erase your site ID, network address, security files, and the setup that connects the device to Rocket. Use it only after the usual power, cable, network, app, and device-setup checks fail and support confirms the exact steps for your model. Before a reset, ask school IT to save the device’s network settings and confirm the recovery steps with Rocket support.

Convert a television with Rocket Signage

A normal TV may work with Rocket Signage when it has a compatible player, network, operating system, and access to the Rocket Touchscreen app. Ask Rocket support to confirm your setup before purchasing hardware. In the app, use Cast mode for Signage; leave the default mode for an ordinary touchscreen.

Contact support

For ClearTouch hardware support, call 864-643-5045. For Rocket software, account access, or help identifying the correct setup, contact Rocket support. Email support@rocketalumnisolutions.com with your Rocket site link and what you see on the screen. Include the display or player model if you know it, plus a photo or short video if helpful. Tell us whether one screen or several are affected. School IT can help with network details if support needs them.
