Open Assistant chat
From the website editor
- Sign in to your site in a desktop browser and open the editing bar.
- Select the speech-bubble button beside the editing bar, just below the button that opens and closes it. Its label is Open AI Assistant.
- The Rocket Assistant panel opens to a new conversation. Choose a starting option, such as Help me use Rocket, or type your own message. Include the page, folder, profile, or filename when relevant.
Switch from chat to the editing tabs
While Assistant is open on your site, its chat panel takes the place of the editing bar. You are already signed in; you do not need to log in again to edit manually.- Click the speech-bubble button labeled Close AI Assistant beside the chat panel.
- The editing bar returns. Open the page you want to edit.
- Click the tab for your task, such as the Images & Videos tab (stacked-images icon). See the four editing tabs.
Continue a previous conversation
If you have saved conversations, select Previous conversations at the top of the Assistant panel in the website editor, then choose the conversation you want to continue. Select New conversation below the messages to start again. From the conversation list, use the button labeled Start a new conversation. Opening and closing Assistant without sending a message does not add an empty conversation to your history. From the Customer Portal
- Sign in to the Customer Portal and choose the intended site.
- Open Rocket Assistant for that site.
- Ask your question or describe the result you want. Include the page, folder, profile, or filename when relevant.
Identify the content you mean
Ask Assistant to find site content or Media Library files. Include the exact title, person, year, folder path, or filename so it can identify the intended item. If Assistant cannot find an item, add its name, year, or folder. If it finds several similar items, check that it has the right one before asking for a change.Provide source files
Upload your documents, photos, or other source files in the conversation and tell Assistant how you want to use them.- Select Upload file beside Send and choose your files.
- Wait for the upload to finish and check any messages about the files. If an upload fails, follow the message or ask support for help.
- Explain which content to use and where it belongs. For example, Assistant can use text, tables, and photos from a Word document.
- Review the suggested changes before they begin, then check the result to make sure nothing was missed.
Provide an Excel workbook
Assistant can also read Excel workbooks (.xlsx), such as a roster or list of award winners.
Work with a large PDF
A large PDF can stay attached while Rocket prepares its pages. Tell Assistant which pages or information you need. It may read the document in small groups of pages, so ask which pages it checked before relying on a summary of the whole file. If Assistant says the pages are still being prepared, keep the original attached and try reading them again later. A saved attachment does not mean all its pages are ready or have been reviewed. If preparation fails, contact support with the filename and the message you see. For adding the complete document to your site, see Add yearbooks and PDFs. The upload control’s size limits still apply.Continue with human support
After a web Assistant conversation begins, select Chat with our team to open Rocket’s support chat. If Assistant asks you to start the support chat, send the first message there. Rocket then sends the visible conversation history automatically. When the button changes to Sent to our team, continue in the support chat. This handoff includes the visible conversation text, but not files uploaded in Assistant. Add any files the support team needs to the support chat separately.Request and review changes
Assistant can help with many content and appearance changes that your account is allowed to make. If it cannot make a change, follow the steps on the relevant Help Center page or ask the support team for help. The task pages explain how to organize folders and sort profiles, manage profiles and page layouts, add photos and videos, and manage records in the website editor. Confirm the site, page or folder, file you want to use, desired change, and anything you want to keep. Review the answer or live result before continuing. See undo or recover a change for steps to undo edits or restore content. For a larger project, such as adding many profiles, Assistant may suggest sending a request to the Rocket team. Review the request before confirming it. You can then follow its progress in Data Entry Requests in the Customer Portal. Tell Assistant which items to change and what you want the result to look like. You can also use Bulk Edit or ask Assistant to work on fewer items at a time.Send source files with a Data Entry handoff
If Assistant recommends a Data Entry request, review it before confirming. Assistant can include up to 30 supported files from the conversation. Check the file list to make sure it includes everything the team needs. If you uploaded a Word document, check that the request includes the document itself as well as any photos the team needs. Choosing a photo from the document does not include the document too. Do not delete the original files from the Media Library while the team is working on your request. For more files or a whole folder, use Create Request in the Customer Portal and share a Drive or Dropbox link instead.Generate an original image
When image generation is enabled, Assistant can create an original image in one of these sizes:- 1024 × 1024 pixels
- 1536 × 1024 pixels
- 1024 × 1536 pixels
