# Find missing or unchanged content

> Check hidden content, filters, search, Recently Deleted, and touchscreen updates before contacting support

First, open your Rocket website on a computer or phone. If the content looks right there but not on the touchscreen, the touchscreen may need time to update or help reconnecting to the internet.

## What to check when content or data is missing

1. Open the item in the website editor.
2. Confirm it is not hidden or unpublished.
3. Confirm every parent folder is visible.
4. Check whether the item was moved.
5. If it may have been deleted, open **Menu** in the top-left corner and select **Recently Deleted**. Restore it there within 30 days of deletion.
6. Review **Menu → Change History** for a recent change.

## Check search and filters

* Clear active filters.
* Search the exact title, name, year, or folder.
* Check spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and abbreviations.
* Confirm the content has useful searchable fields.
* Confirm the visitor is searching the expected folder or the whole site.

Filters can show what looks like the same choice more than once when entries use different capital letters, spaces, punctuation, or abbreviations. Edit the matching fields so they use the same spelling and format.

## Check the public view

Open the page in a private browser window while signed out. If the folder looks empty, the items inside it may be hidden, unpublished, deleted, moved, or left out by a filter.

By default, folders with no published content do not appear in public folder navigation. To keep them visible, turn on [Show Published Folders When Empty](https://rocketalumnisolutions.mintlify.site/content/folders-and-layouts.md#show-published-folders-before-their-content-is-ready). This is a site-wide setting, not a per-folder choice. Visitors opening an empty published folder see **More content coming soon!**.

The folder and every parent folder must still be published. Folders named **New Folder** or **Restored Profiles** remain excluded. Give new folders meaningful names and move recovered profiles into their intended folder before checking again.

A folder description alone does not change visibility. Add and publish content when it is ready, or use the empty-folder setting while you prepare it. You do not need to create an extra entry just to show the coming-soon message.

## Why does a published folder open straight to its contents?

Rocket skips some single-choice pages for signed-out visitors:

* If the main folders page or a parent folder has only one eligible child folder, it opens that child directly.
* If a folder has only one eligible item, it can open the item directly instead of showing its folder card. Unpublished items and unnamed **New Profile** entries do not count as eligible profiles.
* The single-item shortcut does not apply to **Banners**, **Modern Banners**, **Name Plates**, **List**, **Record Columns**, or **Record Rows** layouts. These keep the folder page even with one item.

Using **Back** skips those same single-choice levels in the other direction. The shortcut does not delete, move, or unpublish the folder or item.

Closing the editing bar does not sign you out. It hides content that visitors should not see, but Rocket skips single-choice pages only when you are signed out. Open the same link in a private browser window while signed out before assuming a skipped folder is missing.

## Check the touchscreen

If the web version is correct but the physical display is stale, wait about 15 minutes. You can try a light refresh by double-tapping the Rocket logo. If the screen is still stale, continue with [touchscreen troubleshooting](https://rocketalumnisolutions.mintlify.site/troubleshooting/touchscreen.md).

## Before contacting support

Send support a link to the page and the name of the missing item. Tell us when you changed it and whether it is missing on the website, touchscreen, or both. Screenshots of what you see while editing and while signed out are helpful.
