# Add 3D models

> Upload GLB, glTF, or OBJ 3D models up to 50 MB, show them on profiles, and adjust their lighting

Rocket accepts `.glb`, `.gltf`, and `.obj` models up to 50 MB in the Media Library and supported profile media fields.

## Upload a 3D model

1. Open **Menu → Media Library** in the website editor header, or open a profile's **Media** tab.
2. Upload the model through the available upload area.
3. For a profile, select the model for **Main Photo / Headshot** or another supported media field.
4. Review the profile, its folder card, and the Media Library detail preview.

A GLB file that includes everything needed to show the model is the most reliable choice. A glTF file may depend on separate image or other files; those files must stay available for it to display correctly. Folder cards may show a still image instead.

OBJ files show the model's shape, usually in gray. Separate material (`.mtl`) and texture files are not loaded. If those details matter, use a GLB file that includes them.

When viewing a model on a profile, drag it to rotate. Use the mouse wheel or pinch to zoom. Select **Reset 3D view** to return to the starting view.

## Adjust a model's lighting

To compare how an uploaded model looks under different lighting:

1. Open **Menu → Media Library** in the website editor and open the model.
2. Once the model loads, select the sun icon labeled **Environment lighting** on its preview.
3. Choose **Neutral** to add surrounding light, or **None** to remove that extra light. **None** keeps the viewer's other lights.

The choice saves automatically. It applies everywhere that uses the same media item, not just the profile you are editing. Wait for **Environment lighting saved** before leaving.

If saving fails, the preview returns to the last saved lighting. Select **Retry** in the error message. If it still fails, contact [support](https://rocketalumnisolutions.mintlify.site/getting-started/get-support.md) with the model's name and a screenshot of the error.

To organize, replace, or restore a model after uploading it, see [manage the Media Library](https://rocketalumnisolutions.mintlify.site/content/media-library.md).
